Teaching where participants decide, apply and defend
Roger teaches MBA, EMBA, professional masters and executive audiences in ESG and sustainability, ethics and responsible leadership, strategy, scenario planning, decision-making and sports business. The method is consistent across all of them: experience first, framework second, accountability throughout.
Philosophy
Experiential learning, not lecture delivery
A lecture can transmit a framework. It cannot teach judgement. Roger’s teaching therefore puts participants in situations where they must commit to a decision before they are comfortable, then explain their reasoning to people who will challenge it.
Short conceptual inputs are followed immediately by applied group work on a live context. Groups are asked to justify positions with evidence rather than intuition, and to stress-test each other’s assumptions. Assessment is designed to reward reasoning quality: written argument, defended presentations, and reflective work that links the experience back to the participant’s own role.
Feedback is detailed and individual. Incorrect answers are treated as openings for discussion rather than as failures, one of the features participants comment on most consistently.
Participants make decisions and live with the consequences
Uncertainty is worked with, not removed from the exercise
Concepts are applied to the participant's own organisation
Real dilemmas are debated, including contested ones
Simulations and live cases carry the learning
Theory is connected to contemporary business and societal challenges
